Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Dear Santa | Jackie Ashton

Hi Jackie here, sharing a few inserts for my upcoming Christmas album.  Have you seen the lovely Christmas ranges that are in the shop.  To me Christmas is never too early so I’m stating to prep my album, I love Christmas and always love the many Christmas collections that  appear around this season, so I will be sharing some projects over the coming months using some of the latest collections.

For these foundation pages I’m using Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Dear Santa collection. Starting with 3 No. 6×8 layouts.

These are my first foundation pages, ready for my 2023 Christmas Album.

All of my pages will have a white cardstock placement so that I can add a photograph during December, as well as adding any additional embellishments I want to add.

You will also notice that I don’t add numbers to my foundation pages at this stage, this is because I tend to change  my pages around as my album comes together during December and add numbers when I complete my page.

Happy Day

Using the 6×8 pad – I added some stencil detail to my background cardstock.  I choose 4 sheets of patterned papers, two of them I tore down one edge and layered them together.  Cut a piece of cardstock to measure 3×4  which will be my photo placement.  Backing this cardstock with patterned paper from the 6×8 pad.

Finishing the page with bits and pieces and phase from the Sticker Book and gems.

Merry & Bright

Patterned papers from 6×8 pad, red snowflake- approx. 6” and the black checked approx. 1.5”and adding them both together on the base cardstock.  For this page I’ll add a 4×4 photo placement, which is backed with some green patterned paper.

Finishing the page with die cuts from bits and piece pack, gems and foam sticker.

Happy Holidays

Using the 6×8 pad, cut a piece approx. 2.5” and add to the right hand side of the background cardstock.

My photo placement is 3×4” adding this on top of a 3.5 x 6” piece of patterned paper, added die cuts and puffy stickers to the page, adding a piece of white pom pom trim to the page.  I added a  filmstrip frame to the side of the paper, which is from 49 & Market  here.

Journaling Flip Cards

I made 4 No. 3×4 “ journaling flip cards, to use in my album.

Starting by creating the flip card from white cardstock, which measures 8×4” and scored in half to form the flip up, and decorate the front.

I used 2 patterned papers from the 6×8 pad.  Using one patterned paper for the background pieces, cutting them slightly smaller than the 3×4” card front.  Punched 4 No. x 2” circles from my 2nd paper and added to the top of each background piece.  After making these bases, I was able to design the 4 using die cuts  from the bits & pieces pack and stickers from the sticker book.  Adding ribbon, thread and gems to finish off.

The inside of these flip cards are blank, so I can add journaling or additional photos when I come to use them in my album.

I love how these have come together, and will make a great addition to my 2023 album.

Which Christmas collection have you got? or are you like me and will be mixing a few of the collections up.

Don’t forget to join us over on our Facebook page, we would love to see what you are working on, and also check out this month’s challenge here.

Till next time

Happy scrapping
