Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Dear Santa | Jackie Ashton

Hi Jackie here, sharing a few pockets for my Christmas Album using Simple Stories –  Simple Vintage Dear Santa collection.

For these cards I’ve use the Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Dear Santa 12 x 12 Basic Kit and Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Dear Santa – Layered Bits & Pieces.

If you always wondered how to layer embellishment together, this packet takes all the stress out of you deciding what to use as it is all done for you.  As they are flat and made of paper, they don’t give your project and bulkiness, unless you add 3D foam pad to the back.

I’ve kept the cards simple so that I can add extra embellishments and photographs when I come to adding them to my album.

I used two of the patterned papers from the Basic kit, by cutting the paper down to 6” x 8” and scored in half, and folding over, to make a 6×4 journaling card.

Joyful …

Using the ‘red paper’ after folding it in half, I added a piece of gold ribbon to the bottom of the card.  Die Cut a circle from patterned papers, and added a Layered Bits & Pieces over the top using 3D foam to add some dimension to the card.

Inside – I add a thin strip of green paper, and added a journaling card.

Fragile …

For this card, after folding the card over,  I cut a ½” strip from the top flap.  Added some scrap patterned paper to the top and add the layer element – using 3D foam over the top.

I then added some pom pom trim to the bottom of the top flap, to add some extra texture to the card.

Inside – I bordered punched the same patterned paper that I used on the front and added to the bottom of the card, with a piece of gold ribbon over, and added a journaling card.

Tis the Season …

Adding some red ribbon and trim to the bottom of the card.  Die cut a circle and added to the top- overlaying a layered piece, adding a phase stickers from the Sticker book.

Inside – is blank, I can add I full photographs of more embellishments depending on how I will use it.

Season Greeting …

Die cut a circle of the patterned paper and added a layer piece over the top adding some gold thread behind to add some extra detail, adding a phase word and stars from the foam sticker sheet.

Inside – adding a journaling card.

I made these journaling cards for my Christmas Album, but they could easily be used as Christmas cards.
