Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Country Harvest | Giselle Homer
Hello again Magpies,
As autumn is really upon us, this collection from Simple Stories has to be one of the best choices for documenting the lovely colours of the season. I love the versatility with so many beautiful embellishments & ephemera to chose from.
Awesome
The selection of chipboard frames make it easy to start off your design with a strong focal point. They are beautifully designed & are ready to use. So, after adding some paint splatters, I began this layout by doing just that, placing the framed photo on the lower half of the base page.
Here’s a close up of the frame edge, I just added the truck die cut from the ephemera pack.
I added some die cut pieces & foam pumpkins on the right of the frame for balance, together with a few phrase stickers.
Once I was happy that everything was in place, I cut & distressed some ‘sun ray’ shapes, doodled a double row of lines on them using a fine tipped marker pen. Then I glued them into place & added some blue metallic Nuvo Drops to pick up the blue in the layout. Just for good measure I added more details using a variety of die cut pieces. Finally I placed the title which was from the foam stickers pack.
Chill
We had visited a sunflower field & I thought this collection would work beautifully with my photo, with it’s coordinating colours & die cut pieces.
I started off with some stencilling a background onto the base page in light yellow, followed by stamping in a pale olive green.
I used a square frame for my photo & placed it just off centre, leaving space to add one of the pre-cut chipboard banners below it.
They are so imaginative & the little frames have punch-out backgrounds that you can replace with ephemera or tiny photos.
I added more ephemera to the right of the photo as I wanted an overall ‘L’ shape to my design, leaving lots of white space in the top right corner of the page. I placed my title which is from the foam sticker pack, along with some more word stickers.
You actually can’t go wrong with these Simple Stories ‘Vintage’ collections, there’s so much to choose from – chipboard frames, foam stickers, die cuts & banners all ready to add to your design! I’ll definitely be looking out for some more of these ‘Vintage’ collections.
So, until later in the month, happy scrapping everyone.
