Simple Stories – Pack Your Bags – Amy Kattenbelt

Hello Magpies, Amy here. This month I have been creating with Simple Stories new travel collection which is called Pack Your Bags. Its a fun, vibrant collection full of bright colours and travel themed ephemera as well as some florals too.

Let’s Getaway

Have you seen the new Hey Little Magpie dies that were designed by Sarah and totally exclusive to Hey Little Magpie. They are amazing and as soon as I received mine I just had to try them out. I used the ink splatters and the Circle Web on black cardstock. I think they really bring the layout to life.

I used the web in three areas to form the traditional design triangle. But first I layered some of the different patterned papers from the collection to form a vertical column to the left of the page. I also used the Hey Little Magpie Notebook edge die too.

I used three small photos on my layout and placed them down the patterned paper column, staggering them width wise for a bit of movement and make the page less static. My title was from the Phrase foam stickers from the Pack Your Bags collection. This is such a fun font, I love the way they have coloured each of the letters in two different colours and I will be sure to take inspiration from that for future layouts.

I used Doodlebug puffy alphabet stickers in yellow to add a subtitle – the place the photos were taken, and the date. I added some little word stickers to my photos. I love how easily this layout came together. I do encourage you to go and check out the new Hey Little Magpie dies if you haven’t already, they cut like a dream!
