Simple Stories Heart | Giselle Homer

Hello Magpies, I have two new projects to share with you today. I’ve enjoyed using this range of papers and although it might be specifically directed towards those who are recording memories of loved ones who have passed away, there’s still a lot of other subjects you can create with it.

My first project is a layout using a large cut file. I started by trimming the base paper, then I glued it to the dark floral paper to create a frame.

I backed the cut file with the tartan paper and placed it at an angle on the base paper, leaving a bit of space for the photo on the right. I double mounted the photo and glued it into place just covering the left edge of the cutfile.

Then I added some stickers above and below the photo, plus a few enamel dots too. I love enamel dots, they’re so good to add finishing details to your designs!

I then cut a heart shape and glued that to the lower left corner with a couple of word stickers.

Finally I added the word ‘you’ which is from Cocoa Vanilla’s Happiness collection.

My second project this month is an accordion page mini album, I’ve used a cut file from The Silhouette Store. The papers and embellishments from this Simple Stories collection really lend themselves to being used for a mini as they mix and match really well. There are plenty of stickers and embellishments to choose from too.

I added a length of white bobbles to the spine and glued the ends underneath the cardstock layers on the inside.

Although at first glance the mini album might look complicated the construction is really simple to follow. It’s basically a deep cover with six accordion pages opening outwards from the centre panel. It has some opened topped pockets to add tags as well.

The pages are all double sided so you can add as few or as many photos as you need. I’ve left blank pages to add my photos later but I was able to embellish all the pages in the meantime.
