Simple Stories Happy Hearts | Jo Boland
Hello, it’s Jo here with another look at the Simple Stories Happy Hearts collection. You can find part 1 here. Today I’m sharing a 8.5 x 11″ scrapbook layout I made using the totally adorable Hello Love paper. Yes, I bought another sheet of this! The soft pastel colours in this paper along with the cute typewriters and letters are just gorgeous. The reverse side is a lovely ledger design, you can see a snippet of it tucked in above the title.
I trimmed the paper to approximately 8 x 10 1/2″ and distressed the edges before sticking it onto a piece of American Crafts kraft cardstock. From the left over paper I made a Valentine’s Day card (see previous blog post). I then fussy cut two typewriters and a few letters from the remaining paper. You can see the typewriters and the letters have been raised up on foam pads in the photo above. I simple placed them on top of the same image printed on the paper.
The journaling card is cut from the 4×6 Elements paper. I distressed the edges of the card and added a piece of kraft cardstock and a strip of the reverse of the main paper underneath the bottom edge of the journaling card. This was to make the edge of the journaling card stand out. I added more fussy cut letters and a chipboard sticker piece from the 6×12 Chipboard Sticker Pack.
I’ve popped up the top edge of the photo on foam pads and a added chipboard heart placed to the left.
To the top right of the journaling card I have added another piece of the ledger side of the paper, an ‘I love you’ tab cut from a piece of ephemera from the Journal Bits pack, along with a blue heart, also from the pack. Lastly, I added little dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Metalic Copper Penny. The letter stickers I’ve used for my title are very old October Afternoon from my stash. I used foam tape behind the letters to raise them off the background. I bought a huge 46m roll of foam tape from the shop, it’s absolutely fantastic and should keep me going for a good while!
Thanks for stopping by, you can find the Simple Stories Happy Hearts collection here. See you next month when I’ll be using the Photoplay Paper Wicker Lane collection.
