Simple Stories – Going Places | Jackie Ashton
Hi Magpies, Jackie here with 3 layouts using the lovely travel range from Simple Stores – Going Places.
In theory I’ve done 3 layouts, but two of them are 6×12 sizes – still layouts but not a standard 12×12 one.
I’m still working though my photographs from my visit to New York last year with James.
As I don’t scrap in chronological order, I take my photographs from my New York album when I want to scrap them. This way I don’t find the whole process of documenting the holiday daunting.
View from the Top
The layout document the views that we saw whilst at the top of the Empire State Building, to say it breathtaking is to me an understatement.
To start my page, I added some distress oxide inks to the white cardstock using the packaging technique.
At the top of the cardstock, I added a 4 inch strip of Lets Get Lost paper, using the b-side of the paper, ripped the lower edge. Along with a strip of Enjoy the Ride paper, again using the b-side and also ripping the lower edge. I added these papers to the bottom of the page.
Using the 6×8 pad I back all the photographs with patterned papers.
For my title I used Simple Stories – Color Vibes Foam Thickers – Robbins Egg.
To finish the layout I used chipboard pieces, and form sticker icons, and a Hey Little Magpie flair.
Going Places
Using Detour paper, I cut it in half lengthwise – and used the a-side as my background paper. I added a single piece of patterned paper from the 6×8 pad and added by photographs – which I printed at home with the two photographs on single 6×4 and trimmed it down to fit my page.
Embellishing the layout with chipboard, decorative brads and Journalling Bits, I also added two stamp images from the lovely stamp set with this collection.
For my title I used one of phases from the Form Stickers sheet.
Relax …
Another quick layout, documenting us settling down and getting ready for the long journey from the UK to NY.
Using the b-side of the Detour paper, I added patterned papers from the 6×8 pad to the background and backed my photographs with patterned papers from the 6×8 pad, adding 3D form to one to give it some dimension.
To finish the layout I added two titles from the Form Stickers sheet.
And added the 2nd title under the photographs.
I really love this collection, especially the colour tones, which are so fresh and vibrant and love how my layouts have turn out.
If you have purchased this collection, please share over on our Facebook page, we would love to see how you have use it.
Till next time
Happy scrapping
