Simple Stories – Going Places | Jackie Ashton

Hi Crafters, Jackie here with my 2nd post of the month, using Simple Stories – Going Places collection.

Explore …

I cut a 6×12 piece of Travel More paper, but before I adhered it to my cardstock, I used the Geo Tags stencil to add some detail to the right side of the cardstock.

I used 3 photographs for this layout, leaving a small white border around each photograph.  Then I used different pattern papers  from the 6×8 pad to matt each photograph.

I used a journalling card from the Snap Cards  and added it over the lower part of the stencil details.

For my title I used 2 words foam words from Foam Sticker sheet,

and finished the layout with various stickers from the Sticker Book.

My 2nd project today is a camera mini album.

During a virtual Facetime crafting session with my friends, Sue was cutting out a mini album, using a new camera die, well I just had to order one straight away and when it came, I knew I wanted to use it for a minibook/brag book idea with photographs of New York.

It did take a lot of planning, and a lot of re-thinking my ideas and adjusting what I had initially thought it would look like, to what it ended up being.

I used the Simple Stories – Going Places – 6×8 pad and scraps that I had left over from my layouts and made use of the Sticker Book with this collection.  I’ve not take photographs of each page, but just to give you an over-view of how it looks.

The covering page,  I added acetate to the open spaces to give it the appearance of a lens.

Day Pages – I’d originally was only going to keep these blank, or add a small date stamp, but I got these old stamps out from my stash, and decided to do that cards like this instead – I’ve loved how they have turned out.

Back of Day Pages – on the back of each of the ‘day pages’ I’ve added some details – either a chipboard piece, stickers, handmade tag, stamps.

Photo pages – I limited myself to only two photographs per page, and then only one or two locations per day.   I printed all the photographs at 2×2 without a border.  Added one flat to the page and the other I added foam pads behind it.  I did a batch of stamped labelsUsing the Elle’s Studio – Label Stamp set, which I added to the bottom of each photograph and added the location.  Each photo page as 2  puffy hearts, and a few stickers from the Sticker Book.

For each day, I’ve added a small itinerary of some of the places we visited and I highlighted the areas that I had used in the photos.  I also added some journalling throughout the album.

I also made a few tags and added them throughout the album, and choose the ones that fitted within the inside of the album.

The whole mini album is a very simple design, I didn’t add any machine stitching or extra ribbons and trims as I felt it didn’t need it.  But it did end up being a lot bulkier than I had initially planned.

I’m really loved working with this collection this month, and I have a few sheets left so will be adding more layouts to my New York album over on my IG page.

In the meantime, don’t forget to hop over to our Facebook group, and share your creations, especially if you have used this collection.

Till next time

Happy scrapping
