Simple Stories – Going Places | Jackie Ashton
Hi Jackie here, with 2 layouts using the lovely travel collection from Simple Stories – Going Places.
This time last year me and James were walking the streets of New York and loving every second of it. As soon as we got back we both said we need to go back, so when the world is spinning in the right direction again we will definitely be going back.
But for now I trying to get as many layouts from our 2019 trip created using this collection.
Face of Freedom
A quick layout with a few fun photographs taken at the Liberty Island Museum. Such a fab place to visit and find out more about the Statue of Liberty and the construction of it.
These photographs are of a bronze cast of the Statue of Liberty’s face and we just had to try and stick our heads and fingers into the nostrils.
I added a colour wash of yellow to the background cardstock, and added a 5 inch piece of b-side of the 3×4 elements paper. I then added a punched border to one edge using Enjoy the Ride paper
Using patterned papers from Simple Stories – Going Places – 6×8 Pad behind my photographs, and added some tags from the Bits & Pieces and Journal Bits & Pieces packs.
For my journalling spot, I used a card from the Snap Cards sets.
The title I used alphabet stickers from Simple Stories – Color Vibes – Bright Alpha Sticker Book.
Finishing the page with brads from this collection, puffy stars and wood veneer shapes from Elle’s Studio.
This happened …
For my 2nd layout I used a grid design, I choose 4 different patterns and cut them down to 5 inches by 4 inches. I struck them down on to cardstock and then added machine stitching around the edges.
I added patterned paper from the 6×8 pad behind my photograph, and also added 3D foam to add some dimension.
Using some wood veneer words around the pages and Cork Stars both from Elle’s Studio.
I also added a Hey Little Magpie Flair badge.
I’m really loving working with this collection and will be back later in the month with a few more projects.
In the meantime, don’t forget to hop over to our Facebook group, we would love to see what you are creating.
Till next time,
Happy scrapping
