Shimelle – Head in the Clouds- 6×4 Photographs

Hi Magpies and Happy New Year to you all, hope you have had a great festive season and are ready to get back to normal – I know I am, and getting ready to get back into scrapping and this month I choose Shimelle – Head in the Clouds collection.
Its a new year and we have some new team members which is super exciting for us all, and we are going to be doing two blogpost each month – so here is my first blogpost for January.
After my trip to Disneyland Paris in June with my son, James, I had a large batch of photographs printed in 6×4 format, which is great to get them all printed and added to an album, but a size I struggle with using on a layout.  I’m used to working in smaller sizes photographs, but this month I challenged myself to use some of them for my blogpost and I’m really pleased I did.  The only problem was limiting my choices to a few for my layouts.
Starry Eyed …

My first page is of the fireworks display around the castle that happens at the end of every evening, it was spectacular, and breathtaking – we loved it
I choose Shimelle – Head in the Clouds – Look to the Star paper as my background paper – its has star and flying dragons – whats not to love.
I added 3 number 6×4 photographs to the pages and added a punched border at the top and bottom of the photographs using the b-side of Shimelle – Head in the Clouds – Royal Fanfare paper.
I die cut the ‘dream come true’  from a sheet from the Shimelle – Head in the Clouds – Journalling Pad as well as added a journalling spot.

I added the Shimelle – Head in the Cloud – Chipboard  ‘starry eyed’ to the top of my layout and added a simple clusters.

I also added a Hey Little Magpie Flair badge

Goodnight from Mickey …

As we left the park for the evening after the firework display, it was such a surprise to see Mickey on the balcony wishing us all a goodnight and that he will see us in the morning for more Disney fun.
I choose Shimelle- Head in the Clouds – Moonlight & Roses paper ad my base paper, and added a simple matt under my photograph using Shimelle – Head in the Clouds Briar Rose paper and some papers from the Journalling Pads.
The little words are from the American Crafts – Designer Stickers Books – Shimelle & Maggie Holmes., which I added as part of the title along with Shimelle – Head in a Clouds – Chipboard Thickers

I added some die cuts from Shimelle – Head in the Clouds Ephemera pack, chipboard hearts and Shimelle – Head in the Clouds – Puffy stickers.

To add extra details to the page, I cut some of the background and backed it with some of the patterned papers, I’d used as my matt for my photograph.

I loved working with this collection, and love how it suits my Disney photographs without the collection being the ‘normal’ Disney colours/themed.
Don’t forget to come over to our Facebook page and share how you have used this collection or even ask the team any questions.
I’m back later in the month with more layouts using this collection.
Till next time, happy scrapping
