Scrap and Relax – Paige Evans – Bungalow Lane 2 – Wendy Meffan

Hi Magpies! It’s Wendy here again sharing  two more layouts I created  using the gorgeous Bungalow Lane Collection by Paige Evans.

I made this layout about a day out I had with my lovely group of scrappy friends when Covid restrictions allowed us to meet outside. We went to the Royal Horticultural Society Wisley Gardens. It was in October so the embellishments from this collection again leant themselves to the photograph .

Firstly I gutted paper 12 and made a border for this layout. I always save the edge strips on papers so decided to use them on the layout along with an extra strip from paper 23. I distressed the edges and crossed the strips over each other and then sewed them using gold thread to the layout. The gold thread complimented the gold embossing on the papers.

I matted the photo on paper from the 6×8 paper pad and attached it on sticky fixers over the crossed area of the strips. Next I fussy cut some flowers from paper no 5 and made a cluster along with an epoxy sticker. I attached it to the bottom right corner of the photograph.

Next I punched a collection of circles from the 6×8 paper pad and sewed round some with gold thread. I arranged them above and below the strips  and raised some on sticky fixers to give extra dimension.

I fussy cut some petal like shapes from a paper in the 6×8 paper pad and attached them to a selection of the circles. I added epoxy trees and leaves to the remaining circles.

Finally I sewed some small  banner strips top and bottom of the layout and added epoxy stickers to them and added some gold paint splatters.

Layout 2

For this layout I used up my remaining embellishments and chose papers from the 6×8 paper pad which I hadn’t used previously to coordinate with the photo.

Initially I made a mixed media background using distress oxides. Then I gutted paper 4 to use as a border and from the insert and then cut strips to use on the layout. I then cut further  strips from the 6×8 paper pad. I distressed the edges of all of them and sewed them onto the layout horizontally.

I matted the photo and attached it to the lower third of the layout.

Then I used a selection of embellishments from the chipboard sheet, epoxy stickers, puffy stickers from the sticker book and attached them in clusters over the layout.

Finally I fussy cut the Wonderful from paper 23 and distressed the edges and added it below the photo and added white splatters over the layout.

I hope you have enjoyed these further two layouts from this collection, they also show how versatile this collection is. There are so many papers to choose from and I have only used a small selection of them. It’s worth taking a look at this collection if you haven’t already.
