SAY CHEESE MAIN STREET 1 – SIMPLE STORIES – WENDY MEFFAN

Hi Everyone! Happy New Year…I’m on the blog today sharing two Layouts from Simple Stories Say Cheese Main Street Collection. I chose this collection as we went to Disney at Christmas 2018 and am still trying to scrap the holiday memories! Looking through my photos also made me smile a lot with happy memories of a wonderful time and in these present times it was very refreshing.

I used the 12×12 Full of Smiles paper as a base for this LO. I used B side of the 12×12 Full of Smiles paper and tore it across  and added it across the top of the LO. I gutted the 12×12 Happy Magic Memories Paper and used it as a border  then I added thinner strips of torn paper from  12×12 Dream Come True Paper and 12×12 Happy Magic Memories Paper.

I cut apart the 12×12 3×4 Elements paper and chose the ‘Our Magical Adventure Starts Here’ Card and the ‘On our Way ‘ cards as they worked well with the theme of entering the Magic Kingdom. I matted my photo on another 3×4 card from the sheet.

I then added embellishments from the card stock sticker sheet and chipboard stickers around the photo and also the 3×4 cards.

I used the long scalloped sticker border from the sticker sheet and mounted in on a piece from the 12×12 2×2 elements paper and added it along the bottom of the LO, I then used some of the word phrases across it.

I cut out some of the 2×2 squares from the elements sheet and distressed the edges and added them across the top of the LO, I tried to choose the ones with the most relevance to our day, along with some chipboard elements.

Finally I added a few more stickers and a decorative brad to the journal card.

 

LAYOUT 2

For this LO I chose to use the pink spotted 12×12 sheet from the Basics Kit. I had gone on a the monorail while everyone was on the Space Mountain ride as I wasn’t allowed on the ride following neck surgery and took a few selphy’s of my Minnie Ears!

In the 6×8 paper pad was a sheet with ‘Smiles from Ear to Ear’ I knew immediately I would use this and used the B side to form a complete mouse ! I then used an appliqué sewing effect around it with zigzag stitch . I gutted the black 12×12 basics sheet and made a border and then sewed the main page to it.

I matted my photo from part of the gutted sheet and then used one of the3x4 element cards behind it. I fussy cut the large camera from the 6×8 paper pad and used it as a main embellishment for the page. I finished off the LO with a few chipboard stickers and some decorative brads.

I have a small die of Minnie and Mickey so cut a couple of die cuts and added them in.

I really enjoyed using this collection as it brought back amazing memories of a wonderful holiday but also in general the Collection has a true feel good feeling to it and all that comes with Disney.
