Safe Travels with Simple Stories | Sheena Rowlands
Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again.
Today I’m sharing with you 2 layouts featuring the new Simple Stories Safe Travels collection. What a perfect name for a collection, I can’t wait till we can travel again. Not only are there lots of lovely patterned papers in this range but also loads of useful travel icons too.
Head in the Clouds.
I started by making myself a cloud template out of scrap card and then using it with 2 blue inks to create the cloud pattern onto white cardstock. I tore the lower edge of this cloud cardstock shortening it to approximately 9inches and then added a torn line of Safe Travels – Take me Somewhere under it. Weekend Vibes patterned paper was used below this to make it 12 x12 again.
My 3 photos were matted using papers from the Safe Travels 6×8 paper pad. I die cut 3 clouds and back filled them with vellum. I layered them up over the cloud paper. I created 2 clusters using stickers, die cuts, chipboard and foam stickers.
Using die cut letters plus stickers from the sticker book I created the title to finish this layout.
Bag Lady.
For my second layout I was totally inspired by the bag die cuts from the bits and pieces in this collection to record something about myself.
Using Happy Travels patterned paper as my base I machine sewed 11in square white cardstock to this. I added Distress ink in 2 colours around where I wanted to place my photo and the die cuts.
I matted my photo on various papers from the 6×8 paper pad before sewing it down. I added a small cluster either side of the photo using chipboard, stickers and decorative brads.
The lower cluster is arranged on foam pads to add depth and with a few stickers added.
I really recommend this lovely collection & we would love to see your creations over at our Facebook group.
Till next time x
