Reset and Create
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again & this month I’ve chose to use the lovely new collection ‘Reset Girl’ by Simple Stories. This is a large collection with planner items & scrapbooking stash & all with a fab colour palette & a vintage vibe.
My first layout ‘Crafty Girl’ showcased my love of all things crafty & the photo is one I took whilst making this page. I used Aztec/typeset paper as my background, which I added to with some watercolour paints & then added a smaller square of mint hashgrid/blush hashgrid paper over the top, sewing it down. I then added a heap of cut apart papers out of the 6×6 paper pad, again sewing some down. I put the photo in the centre, on some more papers from the 6×6 paper pad & added bits of ephemera from the die cuts pack, 12×12 combo sticker sheet & 6×12 chipboard sheet, I finished the layout with a few word label stickers.
My second layout ‘You Go Girl’ was inspired by the like a boss paper, as soon as I saw it I knew it needed cutting up & stitching back together which is what I did. I sewed around each piece & added some gold mist. I added my two photos on paper layers & a couple of bits from the big pieces pack & put them on the left of my page. I then added all sorts of ephemera around the photos, metal clips, bradz, word labels. That lady at the bottom was fussy cut from the 4×6 elements foiled paper & the title was fussy cut out of a sheet from the 6×6 paper pack. This page is for my eldest daughter to remind her to follow her dreams & to just go for it.
For my last page ‘Create each day keeps the crazy away’ was based on a quote found on pinterest. I thought it was perfect for a layout so set about creating it. I first cut out the word ‘crazy’ on my silhouette, & backed it in different patterned papers from the 6×6 paper pad & then hand stitched around it. I added some mixed media, inks & splatters, to the background paper get your crafty on, perfect name, & added a few strips of paper, at the top of the page & a few torn bits of washi. I then added the letters from the chipboard sheet & 12×12 combo sticker sheet to spell out the quote. I added a crazy snapchat photo, of me & my youngest daughter to the left hand side & went crazy with all the embellishments, adding some on pop dots & stitching, those cute, cute birds & a foiled HLM flair badge.
I hope you’ll agree this collection certainly has something for everyone & one to take a look at. I have loads of stash left over & cannot wait to carry on creating with it, until next time xoxo
