Rainbow Baby | Pinkfresh Studio | Sheena Rowlands

Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x

Today I’m sharing with you my second layout featuring the wonderful Pinkfresh Studio – Lets Stay Home. I really love this up to the minute range with its mix of colours.

I was really taken by the Better things are Ahead rainbow effect patterned paper & wanted to use it for a background. To be honest it took me a while to actually cut into it as I liked it so much but then I had an idea & it started to come together.

Rainbow Baby.

I loved the name of this paper – Better things are Ahead & seemed to fit so nicely with the photo I wanted to scrap. This little fella is a friends baby and I crocheted this rainbow blanket ready for his early arrival.

I firstly cut the paper in to squares then triangles before drawing a few faint pencil lines on my cardstock so I could create straight chevrons out of the triangles. I also marked the centre of each line and stuck the triangles down from the centre outwards creating an ombre effect, having all the lighter triangles at the bottom of the cardstock. Once the triangles were stuck in place I hand sewed a white chevron between each colour to add texture.

I wanted to create a little rainbow around the photo so I matted it on papers from the Let’s Stay Home 6×6 paper pad then went through choosing stickers, chipboard flair and die cuts to add in. The mini puffy alpha stickers were just perfect to create my title. I added them to white cardstock & cut around them so I could add foam pads beneath them for depth.

I hope this inspires you to have a look at this wonderful collection. Please do share with us your creations on our Facebook group.

I have a small process video of how it all came together over on my you tube channel x

Till next time x
