Quick Scrap – Speedy Planner Scrapbooking

Hey there Magpies! In honour of National Scrapbooking Day, I have a super speedy planner layout for all you time-strapped scrapbookers. It’s not your traditional scrapbooking setup but if you’re a planner who’s pushed for time this will be perfect for you! It’s a great way to scrap your memories right there in your planner in minutes!

Ready, Set, Scrap!

Here we go! Let’s put together this scrapbooking layout in record time!

First off I printed out my pictures. I use an HP Sprocket mini photo printer, but you can use whatever printer you prefer. These mini printers are handy because they are very portable and easy to use. Lots of different brands make them so shop around and find one that fits you. Bear in mind you will also have to buy the paper refills.

For my scrap, I chose to work on the monthly sum up page because I thought it would be the perfect place for a quick April round-up! Each Happy Planner comes with a similar page before each month. Some planner designs have the page already set up with birthday boxes and spaces for your goals, others, like mine, leave you with a nice big space to work with.

Two out of three of my supplies ready to go now all I’m missing are stickers! I pulled out my current favourites, Seasonal, Happy Year, Essential Planning and Food of course, but that is a consistent pick! These value packs all have a great mix of stickers but I especially like their clear deco stickers for adding interest to spreads.

With my pictures, all printed out and surrounded by supplies I get going. I like to position my pics to start with as they make up the backbone of this scrapbooking style layout. Also as they are the biggest elements it’s important to put them down first so you can gauge how much space you have left for stickers! I like to get the positioning right then peel off the sticky backing and stick them down. Trying to get them back up is a nightmare!

As the page is made up of three clear sections I didn’t want to mess with that too much. It is supposed to be a quick scrap after all! Up in the top left corner, I wanted to highlight my best memory from April, passing my driving test! I had to use this cute little car sticker from the Essential Planning sticker value pack to mark it. I also used this little ‘remember’ sticker from the Seasonal sticker value pack to cover up the printed goal banner on the page.

This floral sheet from the Happy Year sticker value pack was almost too adorable to use. But only almost, it was perfect in the end to add some seasonal blossom stickers all over my page! I also used these little fortune cookie stickers from the Food sticker value pack because I made my own Chinese takeaway in April! Crispy chilli tofu, it was delicious!

On the right of the page, there was already a printed holidays section. So I used this cute little camper to add my week of vacation even though I didn’t actually go camping! Both stickers are from the Seasonal sticker value pack and luckily there is another camper sticker in there because I definitely want to use it again somewhere else.

And Time…

Stop the clock Magpies! How did I do? A quick enough scrap for you?  All that’s left is for me to go in and add my notes! I like to use Papermate Inkjoy gel pens whenever I write in my planner. The colours are so vibrant and the ink is really smooth. Of course, it wouldn’t be one of my layout without a bit of faux caligraphy either.

All in all, I love how this whole layout turned out! It was probably one of the easiest and fastest planner spreads I have ever done and I totally count it as scrapbooking. Adding a little scrap magic to your planner is such a great solution if you love scrapbooking but don’t always have the time to commit to larger projects. Seriously give it a go!
