Hello Magpies

Today I’m sharing another scrapbook layout using Ordinary Joys from Pinkfresh Studio.

When I first used the gorgeous Ordinary Joys collection from Pinkfresh Studio, I went down a very autumnal route, but for this layout I wanted to show just how versatile this collection can be. This time, rather than those warm autumnal tones, I’ve created a much fresher and cleaner page, and I think it gives the collection a completely different feel!

For this layout, I decided to have a bit of a love affair with all the circles! There are so many fabulous circular elements throughout the collection, both on the patterned papers and within the ephemera, so I couldn’t resist gathering them all together. I also fussy cut lots of circles from the patterned papers, giving me plenty of different sizes and designs to play with.

I kept my whole design running across the centre of the 12×12 page, with my two photos positioned at either side. This created a lovely horizontal flow across the layout, while leaving plenty of white space above and below to keep that fresh, clean feeling.

I then started layering up all my circles, overlapping some of them and tucking others underneath to create lots of dimension and interest. I also cut a piece from the Circle Web die and tucked this into the design, adding another layer of pattern without overpowering all those lovely circles.

To bring in a little more detail, I added some stamping using the Hey Little Magpie exclusive stamps, which was perfect for filling a few little gaps and adding some extra interest. My title came from the chipboard pack and fitted perfectly amongst all those circular elements.
