& Pull, Simple Stories Say Cheese magic | Julie Taylor

Hello Magpies & welcome back to the blog.

I’m still scrapping some older Disney photos & today I’m using Simple Stories Say Cheese Magic collection. This is a great collection for your Disney photos but looking at my layout could also be used for any bright, fun photo you have, birthdays, holidays, etc!!!

I’ve added a fair amount of mixed media to the background so I’ll talk you through it. I started by adhering a piece of black A4 cardstock to a 12×12 sheet of white cardstock & sewing around the edge. My reasoning for this was that I wanted to see the contrast between the black & white & see how the MM looked on both. I brayered on some distress Oxide paint, in Mustard Seed, over both white & black & added splatters in white & blue. I then went over the top of that with some Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Metallic Texture paste through a Tim Holtz Layered Stencil Focus, this dried to a beautiful sheen & gave lots of texture.

I built my photo cluster up where the black & white cardstocks met, using a chipboard frame, tickets,  & ephemera from the collection.

I’ve used Hey Little Magpie exclusive dies to die cut extra ephemera to add into my clusters, Travel Arrow, Loopy Border, Circle Web, Filmstrip, Slide Frame & Viewmaster Reel.

The title is made up using another exclusive die, Ampersands & Bella Blvd Luna alphabet in black.

I really enjoyed putting this layout together & using all the different elements.

Thanks for joining me.

Until next time,
