Pt. 2 – Simple Stories 6×4 Snap Album | Jackie Ashton
Hi Jackie here, continuing with my 6×4 Snap Summer UK Album, this pull-out piece documents a lovely day spent in London and a River Thames cruise, using the Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Sand & Sea collection.
I started by taking a sheet of patterned paper from the basic collection pack, trimming it down and folding it to create the pull-out page. We started our day by making a quick stop at St Pancras to see the Winnie the Pooh beehive, then we headed down to the River Thames to enjoy a river cruise.
For the front of the page, I cut down a journaling card from the Elle’s Studio July 2026 Kit and layered it over some of the patterned paper, adding a few pieces from the collection ephemera pack. I carried the patterned paper through to the inside, adding it underneath each strip of photographs to help tie all the pages together.
I printed my photographs at home, and added 6 No. photographs to a 6×4 paper, and then trim them down the middle to form the strips for the cruise ones, and then left the other sets as a complete 6×4 photograph,
On the reverse of the page, I added more photographs showing some of the views we enjoyed during the cruise.
I then added a flip-out section to the back of the card, featuring photographs of us as well as some of the sights we saw once we had finished the cruise and were making our way back towards the train station.
The front photograph can be flipped out to reveal another Elle’s Studio 6×4 journaling card from the July 2026 release, where I added my journaling about the day.
To add more detail to this card, I added a few rub-ons from the Simple Vintage Sand & Sea collection. I know the lighthouse isn’t something you wouldn’t expect to see along the River Thames, but I thought it worked perfectly with the theme of the page. Sometimes scrapbooking is all about choosing the embellishments that simply feel right!
I love how I’ve managed to get 24 photographs on one page without it appearing has too much.
We absolutely loved this little cruise along the river and enjoyed seeing some of London’s famous sights from a completely different viewpoint.
I love how much I’ve managed to include in this little interactive piece, while still keeping everything coordinated within the album.
