Proud Moment – Vicki Boutin – Color Study 2 – Wendy Meffan
Hi there Magpies! It’s Wendy back on the blog sharing two more layouts using Vicki Boutin Color Study Collection. It has been so much fun using such a vibrant collection . I chose the 12×12 Array of Colors paper as a back ground sheet. This worked well with the photo as my daughter was jumping up in it and went with the explosion of colour.
I cut all the triangular shapes out from the paper and distressed the edges of them all and then reattached them back onto the layout to give some dimension to the layout. I matted the photo on the pink heart paper from the 6×8 paper pad .
I used one of the tags from the 12×12 Perspective Paper and again distressed the edges and tucked it in to the left of the photo and then added the ephemera “everything’s gonna be alright” card to the right side. I also cut a banner from the 12×12 perspective paper and distressed the edges and added it to the bottom of the photo.
I then used the 12×12 Gallery paper on the B side which was bright circles and punched stars in each circle. I then matted each star with different backgrounds from the 6×8 paper pad and raised them on sticky fixers, distressed their edges and arranged them over the page .
Finally I added a Bramblefox perspextive as it’s colour and words were ideal for this layout.
LAYOUT 2 EMBRACE CHAOS!
For this layout I wanted to use photos of my scrapbooking friends as I felt the ephemera was perfect for them. One day during lockdown when we were all online, we had a funny five minutes where we kept trying out all the filters on messenger. We laughed till cried about how funny they were so I needed to document them!
I used the 12×12 Palette paper as the background for this layout. It was pale enough not to take away from the brightness of the photos and ephemera on the layout. I used holographic stickles along each of the paint lines to bring a bit of sparkle to the page! (it’s not easy to see from the photo of the layout).
I then matted all of the photos in papers from the 6×8 paper pad and arranged them centrally on the page. Then I pulled out all the crafty ephemera pieces which I had left from the ephemera icon pack and distressed the edges of each piece. I then played around with the positioning of the pieces until I was happy!
I added some twine to the tags I used.
I journaled across the very bottom of the layout in the white space.
Finally at the end I remembered about the Embrace Chaos Perspextive I still had, and knew this was the perfect layout for it!
I hope you like the variety of these two layouts and will feel inspired to use this gorgeous collection. Make sure you post your layouts to the Hey Little Magpie Chat and Inspiration Facebook page as we love to see them all.
Till next time …Happy Scrapping!
