Project Life

This month I decided to spend some time with my Project Life album and do a bit of a catch up. I tried two new kits to me, the Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy core kit and the Forever Young core kit. I also dug into my Maggie Holmes Open Book core kit, which I love, and had a play with a new scrapbook collection from the Australian company Cocoa Vanilla Studio called Totally Rad.
First up is the Project Life core kit Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy. It’s available as a full kit containing 576 pieces here and as a kit sampler here.Fine & Dandy

This kit has a lovely mix of pinks, blues, oranges and yellows, perfect for summer days and girly spreads. I really love this kit, there’s lots of options with the double-sided cards that I could make it work even though I have boys and not girls.

In addition to the Fine & Dandy kit I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘Totally Rad’ Alphabet Stickers and a label from the Accessory Stickers. The foam numbers are old ones by American Crafts and were from my stash.
Next I tried the Forever Young Edition core kit. This too is available as the full core kit containing 616 pieces here and as a sampler kit here.

This kit is quite different from the Fine & Dandy kit, it features strong colours and graphics with a retro vibe. The base colour of the journaling cards is cream and there are lots of these 3×4 cream grid cards with a simple title along the top which is great to mix in with the filler cards. There’s a travel theme running through the kit, but there’s also plenty of generic everyday type cards too.

In addition to the kit I again used Alphabet Stickers by Cocoa Vanilla Studio and more foam thickers from my stash.
For the next week I dipped into my Maggie Holmes Open Book core kit. This kit is available as a full core kit containing 616 pieces here and as a sampler kit here.

This kit has a lovely mix of greens, pinks and rich yellows with woodgrain, blacks and whites, and as you’d expect from a Maggie Holmes kit it has a vintage style.

I picked out the deep greens and yellows for my spread and I really love how easy it was to co-ordinate the pages and inserts. I used some more Cocoa Vanilla alphabet stickers, this time from the Colour Me Happy collection, using an I for a number 1 and turning an L upside down for a 7.
For the next week I did something different and used a scrapbook collection to make my own insert cards. I used some of the Totally Rad collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Totally Rad is a boy themed collection with a mix of blues, greys, oranges and lime green.

I used the patterned papers; Happy Snaps, Line Up, Say What, Top Gear and the cut apart sheet Mix Tape. I used the wood veneers and the sticker sheet from the collection too, along with the alphabet stickers as before, this time trimming an & into an 8!
For the final Project Life spread I have to share with you this month I went back and used the Maggie Holmes Open Book core kit again, this time using the blacks and whites mixed in with the pale greens.

Again I used the Colour Me Happy alphabet stickers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, but this time I coloured them in with a brush marker to pull out the green from the spread. I love that these white stickers give you the option of having any colour you like! The number 1 is an I and the 9 is a letter B turned upside down and trimmed.
Well that’s it for this month, but you can click here to take you to all other blog posts featuring Project Life inspiration and you to see more projects I’ve made previously with the Maggie Holmes Open Book core kit here and they’re not all Project Life spreads.
Thanks for stopping by,
