Project Life with Crate Paper and Simple Stories
Hello, it’s Jo here today.
This month I thought I’d have a play with some of the new collections to create some Project Life spreads. I used two collections from Crate Paper ‘Craft Market’ and ‘Maggie Holmes – Confetti’ and Simple Stories ‘I am’. When I put these pages together we were still waiting for several of the items from the Crate Paper collections to come in, so I used what was available at the time. Now we have more of the gorgeous ranges in stock and I’ll be sharing more projects next month with the full Maggie Holmes ‘Confetti’ collection.
First up is my Week 11 made with Crate Paper’s collection ‘Craft Market’ and it’s lovely muted tones. Actually all three collections work well together which lends a nice cohesive look to the adjacent Project Life spreads in my album.
I kept this week fairly simple with the same background paper for each of my 4×6 inserts and layered that and some of the ‘Thrifty paper’ for the header insert. I used the letter stickers from the collection along with matching ephemera, stickers, thickers and die cut accents, in fact the only thing not from the collection were the journaling cards which are from Becky Higgins Project Life. All links can be found below.
For week 11 I used the following items from the Crate Paper ‘Craft Market’ collection;
‘Process Paper’
‘Marquee Chipboard Thickers’
‘Words & Phrases Stickers’
‘Thrifty Paper’
‘Ephemera Die Cuts’
‘Journaling & Title Stickers’
and Becky Higgins Project Life ‘3×4 Lined Journal Cards – Cream’
For my next week, Week 12, I used Crate Paper’s ‘Maggie Holmes – Confetti’ collection.
When I put this spread together all I had from the collection were some papers, gold letter stickers and word stickers, but it’s actually pretty amazing what you can do with these basic things! The only thing on this spread which aren’t from the collection are the little letter stickers, they are really old ones from my stash.
Love the ticket paper ‘Festival’, I can see myself cutting lots more of these tickets from the 12×12 paper to create my own ephemera.
For Week 12 I used the following from the Maggie Holmes ‘Confetti’ collection;
‘Centrepiece Paper’ (reverse side)
‘Festival Paper’
‘Fete paper’
‘Jubilee paper’
‘Shindig paper’
‘Snapshot paper’
‘Tiny Phrase stickers’
‘Gold Foil Alphabet Sticker Book’
(the little letter stickers are old October Afternoon ones from my stash)
For my final week, Week 13 I used the Simple Stories ‘I Am’ collection.
I really liked the woodgrain side of the Maggie Holmes ‘Jubilee paper’ I’d used in Week 12, so I simply added photos and journaling on the reverse side of some of the previous weeks inserts. I used the ‘I Am 3×4 Accent paper’ for the small inserts, I just rounded the corners after I’d cut the 12×12 paper down into the 3×4’s pieces.
I couldn’t resist amending the ‘I am strong’ sticker to ‘I am not strong’ for the insert about receiving my ‘sale order’ from Hey Little Magpie. I had of course added more than just the items in the sale to my basket! How many of us does that apply to I wonder?
For Week 13 I used the following from the Simple Stories ‘I Am’ collection;
‘Expression Stickers’
‘Fundamental Stickers’
‘3×4 Elements Gold Foil Accent Paper’
‘Chipboard Shapes’
‘Die Cut Bits & Pieces’
‘Unique Paper’ (reverse side)
‘Word Stickers’
And finally I made a fun layout about our Creative Team retreat back in February with the Crate Paper ‘Craft Market’.
I layered lots of bits and pieces from the collection and tucked in some extra photos into a Studio Calico vellum pocket which I had in my stash. In addition to those already listed above for week 11, I used;
‘Chipboard shapes’
‘Wood Veneers’
American Crafts white textured cardstock and bakers twine.
The mini handmade vellum envelope and handpainted magpie were a gift from my fellow CT member Claire Fader at our getaway, so sweet I had to use it on this layout!
Thanks for stopping by, do say hello in the comments, it’s always nice to see who came over. See you next month!
