Project Life Pad Play

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a fabulous International Scrapbooking day yesterday, and are looking forward to the Bank Holiday to fit in some extra scrapping time.  I had a great time with my crafty friends yesterday and I love how we have a whole day dedicated to this amazing hobby.  This month I want to share with you 5 different projects I made this month, all using the new Becky Higgins Project Life collections that have recently come in to the store.  I picked up the collections in the 6×6 pads, which I am just loving right now, as I really do not need another Project Life card in my life, but I love the new styles.
The first collection I used was the Adventure Edition, this is very muted tones and not something that immediately struck me as being my style, but I really liked the botanical and travel theme throughout.  I also decided to do something a little different for me and make a 8.5 x 11 page, this is a size I want to play with more. I want to apologies for the crease in this LO, it had an accident before I photographed it,but it is now pressed in between the the other pages in my album so will hopefully flatten out.

I used the beautiful Chestnut Woodgrain Paper as my background, which you can still grab this for the amazing sale price in the store.  I cut this down to the right size and then set about building some more texture on top of this using gesso and some stencils from my stash.


I used the embellishment packs from the Crate Paper Craft Market collection, the muted tones and the gold worked really well with the Adventure Edition.  I build up two clusters of embellishments as I was limited for space on this size, but I am really happy with how the the larger photo worked on this format.

I decided to make another 8.5 x 11 page that would back this one in my album, so I again cut down a piece of the Woodgrain cardstock.  This time I chose the Inspire Edition which is pastel and has a lot of hand script lettering throughout.


I cut down the 6×6 papers in to a series of triangles and layered these up behind where I was going to place my photo.  I have seen so many fab pages using triangles lately that I knew I need to try it too.  Again I chose another large scale photo, this one featuring a lot of the lovely ladies from this creative team retreat we had a couple of months ago.  I was lucky to have enough wigs to share with everyone and the wonderful Niki captured this photo.

I embellished this page with the Simple Stories I Am die cut pack, the colours and gold really made the pastel colours of the Inspire Edition pop.

Next up I decided to do something completely different and  make a pocket page with  the High Five Edition, which is such  a bright fun paper pad.  I used the American Crafts divider page which is 4 6×6 pockets this is perfect for using these pads with.  I then treated each pocket as a mini layout.


I also used the camera paper from this collection to make my embellishments clusters too, the scale of these 6×6 pads are just perfect for this. I also added some of the Simple Stories Word Strip Stickers to each of the clusters.

I had some of the camera cut outs left so I decided to use them on another page, this time a 12×12 one.  I had this lovely paper from the Bella Blvd Star Student Collection and knew it would be perfect to document my new glasses and contact lenses.


The page is super simple, but the cameras and the labels cut from this paper pad were perfect to make little clusters around the photos.

The finial project I have to share with you this month is a 12×12 page made using the Confetti Edition , this is a super bright bold collection of patterns.

I took my inspiration from one of the chevron prints to cut a series of arrows to mount behind my photo.  I then chose a mixture of the papers to make a stack behind my photo.  I added some mist and stencils to an older Heidi Swapp paper before layering it all down.

I again used to die cuts from the Simple Stories I Am collection which mixed well with the brighter more saturated colours of this collection.
So they are my projects created using these great new collections, I really enjoyed using these designs on pages rather than just being restricted to using the cards in my projects.  I have loads of papers still left and plan on using them in some more pages and card projects soon, as always you can follow what I have made for this months blog post over on my YouTube channel, where I post 4 times a week.
