Popsicles and pandas…
Ok, so you’d be right in thinking that ‘Popsicles and Pandas’, one of the latest collections from Bella Blvd might be whacky – it is!
And yet, once you start playing with it, especially in this hot weather when the idea of ice cream sounds heavenly, it’s an extremely easy to use, brilliantly co-ordinated collection and I love it!
Yes – Ive just said that out loud – I am in love with Popsicles and Pandas!
After all, who can resist the dinky little faces of the adorable black and white balls of fluff eating ice lollies? Not me – that’s for sure…
I know I’m late to the party, but I’m also in love with snapchat! Recently discovered, I can’t think of a better way to make yourself instantly smile!
And so, it was perfect timing, as these funny pictures were the perfect subject for this collection.
My first layout uses a cut file of the world, backed in one of the 6 x 8″ papers. I used a second piece to emulate the world and lightly gessoed the Panda Life B side paper to create a backdrop for the world to pop off it.
Picking up on red and green – the two main colours in this layout, I simply clustered another panda eating a popsicle, along with a designer clip and some flair from Freckled Fawn and the Fancy Pants collection Millie & June.
These flair go so well with the Popsicles and Pandas collection – sometimes its worth searching through older collections, especially if there are limited embellishments in the one that you have picked…
For my second layout, I think that the title pretty much sums it up!
Another snapchat photo – this time I’m a cow! The black and white of the snapchat cow face along with the link of cows giving us milk, which in turns becomes ice cream and you couldn’t wish for a more apt photo!
Told you this collection was a bit whacky!
I backed another cut file using six different papers from the 6 x 8″ pad, choosing pinks and soft aqua tones as my choice for this layout!
Did you notice the subtle textured background effect – its created by using a mask and some of the fab Vicki Boutin Glaze – if you haven’t discovered it yet, don’t delay… it’s an amazing medium.
This layout uses more of the puffy stickers, which have a really nice matt finish, rather than being shiny!
And again, don’t you agree how well the flair from Millie & June co-ordinates?
Have you got Panda overload, or are you going shopping?
