Happy New Year Magpies!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with a little time to yourselves for scrapbooking maybe?

I chose Pinkfresh Studios recent collection called ‘The Best Day’ to kick start my 2022 layouts & here’s the first one. The colour combinations are unusual with pastel pink, blue & green contrasting with a tan brown & navy blue. But somehow, they all work well together.

I started this layout by fussy cutting the lower left corner of the ‘Hello Fall’ paper & attached it to a vanilla coloured cardstock using sticky foam pads. I cut some separate leaves to add at either side, then I drew a (somewhat wonky!) double line around the edges using a brown fine liner pen. Then I added a few yellow & brown paint splats.

 

I distressed the edges of my photo & the two backing papers before placing them just above the centre of the page. I added a puffy flower sticker & the first part of the title using some small alphabet stickers.

 

I chose a large flower group from the ephemera pack to place at the lower left corner of the photo & tucked some fussy cut leaves underneath it. Some thin gold thread added a bit of glitter!

 

I used the space on the right below the photo to complete my title with a word tag, the puffy alphabet as before & a flower sticker.

 

I’m looking forward to using this collection again later in the month, there’s still lots of embellishments & pretty papers to choose from. If you want to encourage spring to arrive soon this is a good collection to choose!
