Pinkfresh Studios & Cocoa Vanilla | Giselle Homer
Hi Magpies,
I hope you’ve had time to scrap whilst the weather has been so rainy and cold, my craft room is cosy so that’s where you can find me most days!
I have 2 new layouts today, the first uses Pinkfresh Studios ‘My Favorite Story’, which is a collection with a huge amount of embellishments that makes it so easy to work with. I picked out all the boys colours for this one and started with a cut file.
I backfilled it with a few of the papers and glued it into place towards the top of the page.
As I wanted to use the blue frame embellishment I decide to run some thread through the top part of the cut file and extended it to the left to ‘hang’ my frame. I stapled the ends to keep them in place. I added a cardstock sticker inside the frame, plus a die cut leaf set.
I layered my photo with two patterned papers, some tags and phrase die cuts from the ephemera pack. And placed it on the lower left of the page just slightly covering part of the cut file. I like the tiny black elements, they really pop out of the page and add some contrast.
Then I placed a flag puffy sticker below the photo and added some enamel dots to the centres of some flowers.
I made the title using my own stash as I didn’t have the alphabet that’s in the collection.
My second layout uses the very pretty ‘Unforgettable’ from Cocoa Vanilla. As this collection is very girly, with lots of pinks and flowers I chose an old photo of me that I thought might work well with the designs.
I began by fussy cutting the garland paper, which took a while but I find it quite therapeutic! I added this to the right of my background paper using some foam dots. I placed a cluster of embellishments in the top left corner, with a phrase sticker.
There are some clear sticker butterflies in the collection which I backed with matching coloured paper and added them to the corner and among the garland. The clear stickers do look more shiny in real life!
I found a title die cut in my stash which matched well, so I added that below the photo, with a clear sticker heart.
Then I added a few more die cut leaves and clear sticker hearts around the garland plus a phrase die cut at the lower right edge. There are lots of word stickers in this and other Cocoa Vanilla collections, so there was enough for me to place them all round the edges to create a border.
That’s it from me this month, I hope you’ve enjoyed all the layouts shared so far by the design team this March and that they spur you on to create beautiful pages. Do share them on our Facebook page!
Until next month, when hopefully Spring will be on its way, happy scrapping everyone!
