Pinkfresh Studio, Part 2. | Oh, What Fun. | Giselle Homer
Hello Magpies
I’m back again with my last two blog layouts for 2020 – where did that year go?! I for one, will be happy to see the back of it as I’m sure many of you will too.
My first design has more mixed media than I usually use, I’ve been experimenting a bit more with colour and texture!

I used a heavy watercolour paper for the base and lightly drew a circle in the middle using a plate for guidance. There are layers of paint and ink in two colours, which I painted on and dry brushed around the circle. Then I dabbed yellow paint around the ‘wreath’ using the eraser end of a pencil, that was fun!

I lightly stencilled the stars in the centre of the circle.

I layered up my photo with three papers and distressed the edges. I gathered together lots of puffy stickers, tags and other embellishments which I glued below the photo.

Then it was simply a case of adding elements all around the wreath, there are so many embellishments in this collection, it was fairly easy!

Finally, I placed a title from the Puffy Phrases pack above the photo.

My next layout is a very simple page as I used a beautiful paper which has a group of baubles printed along one side.

I cut out a few of the baubles with a scalpel and put them back on foam pads to raise them from the paper. You can just see this in this photo below.

I added a cluster of embellishments in the top right corner using elements from the ephemera pack and some puffy stickers.

The photo has a double layer of patterned papers, with distressed edges. I glued it into place in the lower right of the page tucking one edge under one of the baubles. Then I added the title below the photo with some gold stars from my own stash.

I’ll be back in the New Year with more layouts to share. Fingers crossed that 2021 is a big improvement on this year!
Till then, I hope you all have a magical Christmas!
