Pink Paislee – Again & Again | Caroline Aston
Hi Magpies, for my first post of the year I have been working with the lovely Again & Again collection from Pink Paislee. On first glance, the collection appears quite autumnal, however it really can be used for any occasion. This week I have used it to create both an everyday layout and a Christmas layout.
Happy Girl
The 12×12” foiled vellum in this collection is absolutely beautiful and was my starting point for my first layout. I cut a piece just over 4” wide to position vertically on my page. Next I selected my patterned papers to go with it, choosing Paper #9 and the B-side of Paper #12. I only wanted to use small pieces of each of these to keep the vellum visible on the page. I cut a strip of Paper #9 as a background for my two 3×4” photos and journaling, which I layered on top of Paper #12.
For the embellishment and journaling box, I turned to the Clear Acrylic Stamp Set from the collection and also the Clear Acrylic Accents Stamps from Heidi Swapp’s Honey & Spice collection. As I had used the dark wood effect paper on the page, I chose to do all my stamping in a dark brown ink rather than black.
I started by stamping a border along each side of the vellum to make it really pop from the page. Then moved on to my title. Using the ‘Happy’ stamp from the Heidi Swapp set and some puffy alphabet stickers. I added the arrow border stamp pointing to the title. Repeating it under the photos, this time pointing to a phrase stamp.
My journaling box is also from the Heidi Swapp set. I think it will become a favourite stamp, which I will use time and time again. It has just the right amount of space for a small amount of journaling plus the date and location.
I finished off my page by stamping some little stars in a visual triangle across the main focus of the layout. Choosing to colour some in with gold. Bringing the gold outline from the vellum to another part of the layout. Finally, I added some 6×12” Cardboard Stickers, to the top of the page and above the journaling.
Attingham Park at Christmas
Whilst looking through all the patterned papers in the collection, Paper #3, Paper #10 and Paper #11 together just said Christmas to me. Therefore, I decided to document a festive outing on my second layout, using these three papers.
I started by printing my four photos at 3×4” and then matted them onto white cardstock. I wanted the red spotty paper to be the main pattern on the page, as this was the most Christmassy paper. Cutting smaller strips of the other two designs.
I added my title below the photos with Puffy Stickers from the Just a Little Lovely collection from Pinkfresh Studio and also the alphabet stickers from the collection. The journaling box from the Heidi Swapp stamp set came out again on this layout, this time I also added the word ‘Love” from the stamp set to the bottom corner.
With the bright busy patterned papers and photos, I wanted to just keep the embellishments simple. Adding three clusters, which each include a cardstock sticker, a gold stamped decorative circle and a wood veneer star. I finished off the page by adding three phrase/word stickers from the cardstock sticker sheet.
Thank you for joining me today, if you like the look of the Pink Paislee Again & Again collection you can find it in the shop here. I’m back on the 25th, so until then Happy Scrapping.
