All Pink & Girly
Hi magpies, Julie with you again today. Whilst waiting for all the lovely new stash to filter into the shop, I decided to use up some of the collections I’d purchased and not got round to using much of. My first layout, ‘Meeting Frankie’, uses a lot of the collection Open Book by Maggie Holmes, from Crate Paper. The background is Sweet Story Paper which I overlayed with a heart design cut on my silhouette. I watercoloured a few of the hearts and to define them further, I edged the coloured ones in black pen. I layered a collection of papers from the 6×6 paper pad behind the photo and added a Freckled Fawn Gold Doily. I randomly added a few word stickers to the hearts from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss Journaling and Title Stickers The title was made using the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge Printed Transparent Alphabet. I love these, and you get so many in the packet, great value for money!
With my next layout, ‘Love you’, I decided to go a bit creative and add some ruffles. I tore some white cardstock and punched in a few places on the edge. I then tore some Crate Paper Kiss Kiss In Love Paper, sandwiched them all back together to make a 12×12, added a few ruffles of crepe paper and vellum, then secured with some stitching. I made a mat for my photo using bits of papers from Crate Papers Kiss Kiss Collection, and added three tags, to the layers, from Crate Paper Kiss Kiss – Layered Tags. I finished off with some Crate Paper Kiss Kiss – Candy Hearts Resin Embellishments, a few enamel dots and sprinkle of Heidi Swapp – Color Shine Spritz in blush. My title came from the lovely words by Amy Tan Stitched – Lucky Accent Words Thickers – Kraft Chipboard.
My third and final layout is a bit more colourful. I again used a piece of white cardstock and added a variety of inks and mists to create the background. I distressed the edges and attached it at an angle to a sheet of Pebbles – We Go Together XOXO Paper, adding a Freckled Fawn Gold Doily and a few bits of lace trim (which there are loads to choose from in the shop!). I made my photo mat out of papers from the Pebbles – We Go Together 6×6 Paper Pad, adding some vellum, a gold doily, a couple of frames from Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Chipboard Frames and also a love die cut, made using My Favorite Things Die-Namics Die – Accent It – Celebrate. I added my photo cluster off to the left hand side, and then added a full alphabet out of thickers on the right hand side, swapping a few out to spell ‘I Heart U’. I then stitched on an arrow pointing to the picture.
I was able to make a good dent in the stash I already had, and managed to make many collections co-ordinate together. Off now to stalk the site for new arrivals!
Until next time
