Pink Fresh Studio – Making the Best of It! | Jackie Ashton

Hi Jackie, here with my first blogpost for March 2024, I’m using the lovely collection from Pink Fresh Studio – Making the Best of it!

Recently, I was going thought my albums – mainly my Disney ones and realised I had quite a lot of my photographs that I still needed to scrap.  So as to reduce the number of layouts  I would have to create, I decided to do something completely different this month with my blogpost and add a tag minibook to a layout.

The tag minibook will hold several photographs of the same event.  I decided to use the Elles Studio large perforated tag metal die as the base for the minibook – which I will share on my next blogposts.

For the layout page I used Time Well Spent patterned paper as my base.  Using a piece of Making the Best of it patterned paper I torn a strip and added it to my layout.

Then a set about creating my pocket for the tag minibook.  It did take me a while to figure it out, but I’m so please how it turned out.

I used  Good Feelings patterned paper to construct my pocket.

The pocket measures 8.5” x 7.5”

Scored each side at 0.5”, 1” and 1.5”

Scored the bottom flap – 0.5”, 1” and 1.5”

I folded each side and the bottom into concentina style so that the pocket as  gussets to hold my minibook comfortably.

For it to hold together I cut a square out of the corner of each side.

Before adding to my layout, I border punched two strips of Making the Best of itpatterned paper to add to the top and bottom of my pocket.

The final measures of the pocket is approximately 5.5” x 6.5”

For the title I used the Mini Puffy Alphas which I machined stitched on to some patterned paper, to give my page some added texture and added this to the front of the pocket.  I added some of the lovely Floral Vellum Ephemera and used one of the Layered Paperclip Banner Sticker to decorate the front.

My photographs measures 4” x 4” and I layered various patterned papers from the 6” x 6” paper pad behind, and distressed the edges.

I added my photograph to the left of my pocket, and added a few of the Floral Vellum Ephemera around.

I kept my embellishment to a minimum, as I’ve not finished the minibook and I can add any leftover embellishment to the layout, once I’ve finished it, which I will share again.

I love this collection and love how I have decided to use it, I will be back later in the month with the first few pages of my tag minibook.

Don’t forget to share your layouts over on our Facebook group, we would love to see them.

Till next time

Happy scrapping
