Hello Magpies

I’m sharing a layout today using a mix of stencils & stamps available in the store. Do you ever make your own embellishments out of your stamps? It’s a great way to get an individual look to your pages & even better you can co-ordinate with any paper collection!!!

I used a sketch for this layout, made by Sarah Davis. I loved the vertical design & the strips down the centre.

I first added some stencilling using Stampers Anonymous layered stencil Focus with some Salvaged Patina oxide ink, top right & bottom left & added some splatters.

I then went ahead & layered a few strips, of patterned paper down the centre adding in some ruffled crepe paper & a scalloped border piece. I’ve used Vicki Boutin’s Print Shop collection, as the green shades went perfectly with my outdoor photos. Instead of machine sewing these into place I’ve used some sewing stamps, Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz cling stamps Stitches. They give the look of stitching without the faff of getting your machine out.

I then started making my embellishments. I added some Salvaged Patina & Mustard Seed oxide inks to a messy mat, spritzed with water, & coloured some old book paper with it. Once dry I stamped over the top with the leaf stamp off the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz cling stamps Media Marks #2 & fussy cut them out. I also stamped, onto some patterned paper, using the Vicki Boutin Print Shop Happy Day stamp set (the flower & leaf) & again fussy cut those out.

I fussy cut 2 circles from the Circle Time paper & added those to either side of my vertical column & did some hand stitching for added texture. The title came from the Perfect Day Phrase & Accent puffy stickers & I added that vertically to tie in with the lines of the page.
