Pebbles – Peek-A-Boo You Boy – Part 2 | Amy Kattenbelt

Hi Magpies. It’s Amy back today to share another two layouts using the Pebbles Peek-A-Boo You Boy collection. I want to show you how versatile the collection is. You do not have to be restricted to using this collection on only baby photographs. If you take a closer look you can see how the icons can fit a variety of themes.

Layout 3 – Explore the World

I took my inspiration for this layout from the cut apart paper called ‘Be Wild‘. You can probably see how my idea developed from the top left square, the 3 mountains in a circular frame. I started by using on two pieces of white card stock. On one (the top layered piece) I drew around a plate and cut out a circle. On the second sheet (the bottom layered piece) I created a mixed media background using two blue shades of Distress Oxide and the package smooshing technique. I then used the Wonderland Frost stencil by Carta Bella and Vicki Boutin’s white molding paste to add little stars to the background.

Next I created the 3 mountains by cutting triangles out of patterned paper, and used them as a template to cut the neutral snow tops. I layered them up on top of my mixed media background, and then stuck the second white cardstock with the circle hole on top.

I layered my square photo behind an offcut of patterned paper and added a sub title using the Elle’s Studio alphabet stickers. This cluster was then placed in the lower left hand side of the layout.

I embellished my layout, adding clouds, hot air balloons and a sun from the sticker sheet.

The title was created from the grey puffy phrase thickers that are in this collection. I created the title by using the word ‘Explore’ and taking the work ‘World’ from the title ‘Hello World’, and I also took letter from other phrases which I knew I didn’t want to use to create the word ‘The’. It was really fun to create my own title, and is something I will remember to do again in the future if the ready made phrases aren’t quite what i am after.

Layout 4 – Edinburgh Zoo

The fourth layout that I have created using this collection is zoo/animal themed. I adore the cute little animals that come in this collection, and they are perfect to be used on photos take at a trip to the zoo. I started by creating my background of horizonal stripes of the various patterned papers. As you can see there are plenty of papers that are just lovely vibrant colours and in no way baby themed. The edges were distressed and torn for added dimension.

The fun part was adding all the animal stickers and die cuts on to the background. I made sure to try to place the animals onto a background of contrasting colour. I also added in some word diecuts too.

The title was created with two types of alphabet stickers because this creates more interest.

I matted the photo with the diagonal striped paper because it contained all the colours in the background layers. All the animals have a white border, so I added a white border to my photo cluster. To finish the page I added quite a few puffy hearts by Elle’s Studio. The colours match really well, and it gives it a little more dimension, finishing the page off nicely.
