Pebbles-Merry Little Christmas part 2 – Philippa McCray

Hi there Magpies!

I’ve loved playing with Pebbles Inc. Merry Little Christmas collection and today I’m sharing an Advent project using the 6 x 6 Paper Pad, Die Cut Ephemera Phrases and 6×12 Cardstock Stickers as well as bits and pieces from my stash.

I don’t have an electronic cutter but I have a friend who does! I wanted to make some little boxes using the 6×6 paper pad and after a couple of trial runs she used her Cricut to cut me some small boxes 3.5cm x 3.5cm square (the maximum size possible from a 6×6 sheet).

I decided I’d like some variety in the size of boxes so from plain cardstock my friend cut me three larger size boxes and I used off cuts to decorate them. I also pulled some box blanks from my stash and covered them with paper from the paper pad.

I stuck the stickers from the 6 x 12 Cardstock Sticker Sheet on to card and then cut around them as I wanted to raise them up using sticky pads. I chose stickers that lent themselves to easy placement of the numbers 1 – 24. It was a good opportunity to use up some numbers from my stash!

When assembling cut boxes it’s important to use a bone folder to get nice sharp creases along the folded edges as this really does make the boxes easier to glue together. This was a bit time consuming but once done the fun part of decorating the boxes could begin!

I used a die to make some bows using the left over scraps from the box cutting and used them for added embellishment along with some red and white bobble trim and red/white bakers twine.

I love how they turned out. They are an ideal size for a sweet treat and the bigger boxes would take a small gift.

There are various ways you could display the boxes, I have a small artificial tree and poked them amongst the branches, you could also pile them into a festive basket or onto a pretty tiered cake stand.

I hope I’ve inspired you and maybe you’ll check out the Merry Little Christmas collection.

My other projects using products from the collection can be found here.

I’ll be back next month with more projects to share, until then, Happy Scrapping!
