Paige Evans Wonders | Jo Boland

Hello all. I’m here with my first batch of design team projects for June and this month I’m using the Paige Evans Wonders collection. It’s full of bright colours and patterns galore!

Scrapbook Layout #1 Current Crochet Blanket

For my first layout I used the Paper 2 which has colourful stripes. It reminded me of the current blanket I’m crocheting, and you can see why in the photo! I cut out all the stripes and distressed the edges, then stuck them back down on to white cardstock. I positioned them with the deeper coloured ends were on the left fading to the lighter ends on the right. Then I decided to add puffy phrase thickers colour on colour where I could, choosing words that represented who I feel about my crochet blankets. I had three blank stripes so I used these to add my title ‘Current Crochet Blanket’ using a set of older white thickers from my stash. To keep all the letter stickers in place I used my sewing machine, ending the stitching at different points along the stripes.

I love the effect of the colour on colour with the puffy stickers. It’s a great way to use up the puffy stickers, which I’m sure I’d end up with loads left!

The rest of the layout is really simple. I cut a tag from Paper 12 and carefully fussy cut the three butterflies from it which I used as extra embellishments on the page. I adhered my photo on top of the tag, being careful to conceal where I’d cut the butterflies from. Used some foam pads to pop the edges up and added a cute dimensional banner.

Scrapbook Layout #2 Out Out

This layout uses Paper 10, which has a lovely light blue and pink pattern on one side and a doily pattern on the other. I really wanted to use both sides. So to do this I gutted the centre leaving the doily intact, this left me with a 3/4″ frame. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 11 1/2″ and adhered it on top of the frame. Then I cut around the large doily and also cut out the centre of the doily to use the pretty side again. I distressed the edges of the doily and adhered it to the cardstock, adding the insert back it. Thankfully it did fit even though it was flipped over! Next I added some gold ink splatters (from my stash) over the background and left it to dry.

I fussy cut a little envelope from Paper 22 and a light blue label from Paper 12 (the tag paper), which I cut in two. I used a cutfile for my title backed with vellum (or tracing paper), popped up on foam pads. Added my photos, tucked the journaling labels under the top photo and placed a dimensional banner under the bottom photo. Finally I added three little puffy mandalas that went lovely with the paper and three gold puffy hearts, so cute.

I’m really pleased with how these layouts turned out and I’m looking forward to creating more with this beautiful collection. You can find the full Paige Evans Wonders collection in the Hey Little Magpie shop here.
