Paige Evans 'Whimsical' – Part 2
Hello again. I’m back with my second instalment of creative team layouts using the wonderfully colourful Paige Evans ‘Whimsical’ collection from Pink Paislee. You can find my first two layouts in this post. First up is a kaleidoscopic wreath layout inspired by the Hey Little Magpie January moodboard challenge set by Niki (see this post for all the details of how to enter).
2019 Wreath layout
I fussy cut lots and lots of colourful words and sentiment banners from Paper No.8 and also trimmed 3″ coloured strips from Paper No.16, which I snipped fishtails into the ends to make them into banners too.
I drew a circle in pencil in the centre of a piece of white cardstock and stuck the coloured strips from Paper No.16 around in rainbow order. Then I stuck the words and sentiment banners on top of the coloured banners, again only adhering the inner ends of the banners.
I stitched around the centre circle with my sewing machine twice, not only does this keep everything in place, but it also gives definition to the wreath. I wanted to add texture to the edge of the layout too, so stitched a couple of times with a ‘wonky’ straight stitch around the edge of the cardstock.
With the stitching done I added a selfie photo I’d taken at New Years with a snapchat filter. I mounted this in a frame which I’d fussy cut from Paper No.7 and added some fussy cut flowers from Paper No.3. I added my title along the bottom on the layout using the rose gold little foam stickers from the Alphabet Thickers pack and a couple of chipboard stickers.
Finally I curled up the ends of all of the banners around my wreath and added a few splatters of gold ink from my stash.
Vinyl Score layout
My second layout features fussy cut frames from Paper No.7 and more banners from Paper No.8 on a background of Paper No.4 and rainbow strips from Paper No.16. Because the frames were being layered under the photo I only used those from the edge of the paper, leaving the full intact frames from the centre of the paper to use on others layouts.
I added a title in the rose gold thickers, a gold scalloped border sticker from the 6 x 12″ cardstock sticker sheet and some chipboards accents.
I’ve added texture and dimension from simply curling up the ends of the tags, popping up the corners of the frames on foam pads and by distressing the edges of the patterned papers.
I love this collection, I hope I’ve inspired you to check it out too.
Don’t forget to check out our January month long challenge, there’s 1000 Magpie points to won!
See you next month,
