Pack Your Bags by Carta Bella

Hi Magpies, well the weather as really turned and the nights are drawing in, as I type this its wet, cold and windy outside, so what better way to ignore the miserable weather, then by revisiting my New York holiday photographs, and putting together a few pages using this fab travel collection – Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags.
This collection was lovely to work with, the pattern papers are all textured and slightly thicker than normal patterned papers, and also a I love the colours of this collection and even though some patterns are the same as ‘normal’ travel papers they offer a fresh tone to my travel pages.
My first layout ‘Every Journey ….’

I started the layout using a 7 inches piece from the b-side of the Carta Bella – Pack You Bags – Open Road Paper, and add 5 inches piece of the b-side of Carta Bella – Pack You Bags – Head in the Clouds paper, I overlapped the join of these two papers with a 1.5 inch piece of Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Away We Go paper which I border punched down one side and machined stitched it into place.
To matt the photographs I used Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Journalling Card  and used Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – 3×4 journalling cards – as my title for the page.   I added two Hey Little Magpie – flair badges  which are perfect for this layout.

I added embellishments from Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Sticker sheet, and some Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Stamps details to be bottom of the layout.

My 2nd layout, I used a cut file, and backed each letter with different patterned papers, before added the cut file my cardstock I added some ink using the packaging technique and using Tim Holtz – Cracked Pistachio Oxide Ink, I added 3D foam to the back of the cut file, and added it over the top of the inked background.
I used two passport size photographs of James and finished the layout with stickers from this collection and a few enamel dots from my stash.

My final layout with this collection is ‘This is New York …”

I wanted to add a few photographs of the streets of New York, I printed them at 3×2.  Using strips of Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Open Road paper, Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Head in the Clouds paper, and Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Travel Buddy paper cutting them all at different angles and border punching the red paper and added them to the top and bottom of my white cardstock.
I added the 5 photographs to the bottom of the cardstock, adding 3d foam to two of them to give them some dimension.

Using the Postcard from Carta Bella – Pack Your Bags – Journalling Card to add my title and the names of the places on the photographs. The ‘This is’ stamp is from Elle’s Studio –  Title Builder No. 2 Stamp Set.

I finished the pages with stickers from this collection, and some wood veneer from my stash.
If you have this collection in your stash, please share how you have used it on our Facebook page.
Till next time, happy scrapping …
