Ouwehands Zoo | Into The Wild – Simple Stories | Amy Kattenbelt
Hello Magpies, Amy here to share two layouts using Simple Stories “Into The Wild” collection. This collection has lots of browns, greens, oranges, reds, yellow and a small pop of light blue and pink. Featuring lots of animal print patterns and safari, tropical and of course wild animals its perfect for Zoo photos.
My two layouts are inspired by sketches that I designed for Spoonful Of Scraps.

Supplies:
Simple Stories – Into The Wild – 6×8 Paper Pad
Simple Stories – Into The Wild – 12×12 Tags paper (orange ‘lets go on an adventure tag’)
Simple Stories – Into The Wild – Bits & Pieces Die Cut Ephemera pack

Yellow 12×12 Cardstock
Hey Little Magpie – Word & Phrase Ephemera – Script
3D Foam Pads
Plus: red wool, hexagon die or punch, mini alphabet stickers
I followed the sketch (below) closely, cutting hexagons from some of the patterned papers from the 6×8 paper pad. I used bright yellow cardstock to mat both my whole layout and my photo. I added a tag to the left of my photo. I split my title to be both above and below the photo. I added some of the ephemera and words to decorate my layout.
I raised a few of the ephemera pieces up with foam tape to add some dimension to the layout. I loved how the sketch made this layout so easy to create.

As a bonus layout this month, I also used another sketch that I designed for Spoonful Of Scraps. Again I followed the sketch very closely which made this layout quick and easy to create.
I used the ‘Be Brave’ word die from the set as my large title. I matted my two photo on some scraps left over from my first layout (above). I used the round binding edge punch as it was a perfect match to the sketch. Instead of the three stars, I used other pieces of ephemera from the bits and pieces pack.
I finished the layout off by adding some Elle’s Studio puffy stars and dots, instead of the ink splatters in the sketch.
I hope that these two layouts show you just how great it can be to use sketches to create layouts. They are one of my favourite sources of inspiration. SO much so that I have set a Sketch Challenge for this months Hey Little Magpie challenge, so be sure to check that out if you haven’t already seen it! Thanks for coming to take a look at my layouts.
