Out & About in my Travellers Notebook | Sheena Rowlands

Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x

For my post this month I decided to try to create another travellers notebook to record a recent trip to Verona, Italy. I loved the look of Pinkfresh Out & About so chose 2 of the 12×12 papers, the 6×6 pad and some of the smaller bits, tags, ephemera, frames and stickers to use this time.

This is the 3rd travellers notebook Ive made and I wanted it to feel a little more scrapbook like but I love to get in lots of photos plus document some of our stories. I have previously tried to make the travellers notebook whilst I was away but it just didn’t happen mainly due to not having enough time & feeling tired from our adventures.

You can find my previous travellers notebooks here – 1a & 1b , 2a & 2b

Day 1

Whilst I was away I wrote a diary which I carried around with me during the day plus I collected tickets, maps, leaflets and business cards. On my return I stamped the dates and used a set of stamps to add extra titles to my pages.

I always feel like the first few pages are hard to start but once I get going I tend to repeat some of the page designs and as I spread out on my desk I tend to add more bits and pieces to my spreads.

Day 2

I use repeating elements to help the flow of the pages so I cut the stamp shapes from both the Pinkfresh Out & About 12×12 and 6×6 papers plus die cut some arrows too.

This is the first 2 days completed I will be back with more pages later in the month. You may have noticed there aren’t may puffy stickers in these pages, thats because I don’t add lumpy embellishments till the very end when a notebook is full as it can be really hard to write on the page after them.

If you have any queries about my travellers notebook so far or have a travellers notebook you could share please come over to our Facebook group.

Till next time x
