One Canoe Two | Willow | Giselle Homer
Hello again Magpies, I’m back to share two layouts this month using American Crafts One Canoe Two ‘Willow’ collection. I love the mix of colours and the touches of rose gold in the embellishments. Not to mention the little butterflies on the sheet of foiled accents vellum!
I began this layout by using ink, applied with a sponge, in three different colours through three different stencils onto a sheet of mixed media paper. I was aiming for a vertical design for the background as I love this photo so much I wanted it to take prominence on the layout.
I like how subtle the colours are from using a sponge. I added a few little splats of orange spray ink to add another brighter colour.
I added a couple of layers behind the photo and glued it into place in the centre of the page. Then I tore some narrow strips which I put behind the photo on the left side. Then I added a variety of embellishments and a few stamped circles.
I liked the long arrow from the puffy stickers pack but as it was pink, I coloured it with a marker pen to match the brown in the layout.
I chose my title from the sticker pack and placed it on the lower right corner of the photo.
I added couple more stamped circles, a paper clip from my own stash and some crosses from the sticker pack to finish the page.
My second layout uses a large title cut file which I backed with very pretty ‘Emerald Meadows’ paper and placed it at an angle onto a sheet of white cardstock. Then I placed that onto a sheet of dark brown cardstock, also at an angle. Then I added a washi tape border to add some interest.
I used a different paper to back the dog shape as it matched our dog’s fur! I fussy cut some vellum butterflies, which I layered together and glued them above the cut file.
I added a sticker flower and a gold heart below the photo.
Finally, I chose a title from the sticker sheet and added that to the gap below the cut file, on the left side along with another flower sticker. I finished the page with a couple more butterflies and some enamel dots.
That’s it for me for now, I’ll be back with two more layouts later in the month using this versatile collection.
Until then, happy scrapping everyone!
