On the River – Crate Paper – Fresh Bouquet – Wendy Meffan

Hey Magpies! it’s Wendy here sharing another couple of layouts using this gorgeous Fresh Bouquet Collection from Crate Paper. Its colours and tones are perfect for outdoor photos.  I decided to use the 12×12 treasured paper as the main background to add a contrast to the pictures and also bring out the colour of the river. I felt some kind of border was needed to break up the darkness  of the paper so I trimmed the sides and then punched the edges. I then added thin strips of other papers in the collection to make the edges.

From the 6×8 paper pad I cut many narrow strips and attached them randomly in a vertical line to the left side of the LO. I then stitched through them all with running and zigzag stitches. I matted my three photos and added them on 3D fixers and then started to embellish around them. I used pieces  from the ephemera die pack and fussy cut some flowers and also used chipboard stickers. I attached some pom-poms to the base of one go the photos.

I added three main clusters and then another small amount of embellishment around the right hand photo.

I placed die cuts and fussy cut pieces down the length of the horizontal strips.

Finally I added the title in Gold thickers and journals under the photos.

Layout 2 …BEAUTIFUL SUFFOLK

We have just had a week away in Suffolk and I found the countryside quite stunning not having been before.I took many photos out the car window which I have used here and I was able to show a whole different colour palette of this gorgeous collection on this second Layout .

Firstly I  decided to stencil tiny flowers in gold texture paste, to match the colours in the photos. I then decided I would use the mustard and chestnut colours from the collection so cut some strips and used a border punch along the edges. I  then backed my photo strip and  added a large die cut flower and then a similar chipboard flower over the top.

I added some die cut ephemera to the right of the photo and journals on the memo sheet. I added the title underneath. I then chose an epoxy paper clip and an embossed puffy sticker to further embellish.

on the chipboard sticker sheet I found the circle with flowers on it and added some pom-poms round the edge to become like a sun on the Layout.

Finally I added another cluster to the bottom left of the layout rot balance it out.

These two Layouts were so different in colour and style but give a great overview of this beautiful collection. I hope you’re inspired by them and I look forward to seeing your creations on the HLM Facebook page.

Till next time…. Happy Scrapping!!
