On A Whim by Amy Tangerine
Hi Jackie here with my layouts for this month. And like the title of the collection says, I decided to pick this ‘On A Whim’ – ha! ha!. It was definitely one that I overlooked and again another one that I’m glad I picked it.
The collection is very random and bright, it as cameras, flowers, flamingos, pizza, swans, palm trees, she seemed to have thrown everything at this collection, and you know what, it works so well together. And the whole collection was a very pleasant surprise.
So for my first layout, ‘A Grand Day … ‘
I distressed the background of the of white cardstock with blue and pink distress inks. Added a strip of Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – Tropical Paradise, using the b-side. I then added a strip of the a-side of the same patterned paper underneath the lower edge, which I had border punched.
Using various papers from the Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – 6×6 pad I matted my photograph, adding some stickers from the Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – sticker book.
I used part of the cut a part sheet as my title, along with lovely Maggie Holmes – Chasing Dreams – Gold Foil Thickers, which comes in two parts. Each alphabets as the positive and negative elements so they will last longer. I just used the positive alphabets and added black thickers from my stash.
To finished off the page I added enamel dots, some Hey Little Magpie Flair Badges and a few star wood veneer from my stash.
My 2nd layouts, ‘ Cocktail Time’ was a super quick one, I cut two strips from the Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – All the Feels, and used the b-side which is a camera print, I added a strip of Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – Heaps of Love paper between the two pieces of camera paper. Mounted the photographs with some papers from the Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – 6 x 6 pad.
To add elements to the page, I used the cut a part sheet from the 6×6 pad, vellum stickers from the sticker book,
I have a pineapple die, which I cutting white cardstock and ink them, before adhering to my layout.
To finish the page off I added enamel dots, and some word stickers from Pebbles – Tealightful – work stickers sheets and some splatters with Heidi Swapp – Colour Shine – Butter Spritz
For my final layouts this month, “Be a Flamingo …” I decided to go with a long title and some used some alphabet stamps in the title.
I distressed my cardstock background, added a strip of Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – Let’s Flamingle, and two border strips, which I bordered punched Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – Heap of Love. I mounted the photograph with papers from 6×6 pad, and added some Amy Tangerine – On A Whim – Epherma – Die Cuts
For the title I used a very old collection from Amy Tangerine – I think it was her Plus One collection of sticker alphabets, also some gold ones from an old collection by Dear Lizzy, and some blue ones that was in my stash. In between each stickers / thickers.
I stamped using a lovely set of alphabet stamps by Kelly Purkey – Outline Letter Stamps.
I finished off the layout using bits and pieces from the Amy Tangerine die cut pack, and added some wood veneer stars and some enamel hearts from PinkFresh Studio – The Mix No. 1 – Enamel Shapes
It was only when writing up this blogpost that I realised I’ve used my ‘go to’ design – a strip of paper across the length or width of the page, with a different colour paper strip along one or two edges. As all these layouts will be in different albums I’m OK with it, but it did make me smile seeing them next to each other.
Anyway, stop my wraffling, and I do hope you like how I’ve used this collection and can see that even though the papers are bright and very random then can still be used on your everyday layouts.
Thanks for stopping by, see you next month
