Oh My Heart

Hey Magpies, Niki here with you today sharing some layouts using the absolutely gorgeous Oh My Heart collection by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee. The collection is bright and fun and has no particular theme and has just the right amount of random bits and pieces.

For my first layout I created a soft pink background using some watery paint and smooshed it around a bit on white card. I mounted this on a bright border and used the paper with all the squares on it to cut letters for my title. I used an alpha by The Cut Shoppe. This has resulted in all the letters being on different patterns whilst only using one sheet of paper. I carefully arraged the letters in place on my layout (they are very thin in places) and stuck them down. I used the sewing machine to hold them in place too.

For ‘Wonderful you’ I used the same technique of cutting shapes from the other paper that had lots of squares on it in all different patterns. This time I used just one shape – a star, and cut one from each box but in a few different sizes. I drew around each star with pen to make them stand out more. I also used my sketch pens to draw a large star onto my layout and then I arranged all the small cut stars inside the big star.

For ‘Thumbs up’ I used another cut file by the Cut Shoppe to cut the background apperture. I then backed each semi-circle with patterns from the 6×6 paper pad. I cut a small strip off each paper and then raised each one on foam pads, so there’s lots of dimension on this layout. I worked on the back of the layout and only turned over when every semi-circle had been backed, and the result was fab! So bright and fun. It doesn’t bother me to use pink on a layout of a boy so I totally embraced the whole collection.
