October is Here! – American Crafts – Farmstead Harvest – Wendy Meffan

I have been converted to Autumnal layouts! I have never been a real fan of orange/ yellow but just loved the colours in the Farmstead Harvest Collection by American Crafts. I love that it has accents of gold on the ephemera bringing a real sparkle to them.

I really loved the 12×12 Houses paper and so cut a strip which I added down the left side of the page, I then added a bracket border which I raised on sticky fixers, For my title to show the different papers in the collection I hand drew and cut  out letters spelling October. I distressed the edges of all the letters and then added faux stitching in pen. I attached them vertically down the border and added a few flowers from the Ephemera Icons.

To the right of the page I background using  Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed distress oxides. Then I created a large tag and matted my photo on it and placed it over the top of the mixed media. I used the houses from the the Ephemera Icons to embellish along with some of the floral pieces in the ephemera.

Underneath the photo I used the vellum together ephemera and a house cluster again from the Ephemera Icon set.

The houses were particularly appropriate as I was away with some scrapbooking friends in a beautiful house.

Finally I added gold splatters for a bit more sparkle across the layout.
