Naughty but Nice! – Echo Park – Farmer’s Market 2 – Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here again sharing two more layouts from The Farmer’s Market Echo Park Collection.

I started this layout with a mixed media background using Scattered Straw distress oxide as the colour was a good match to the tones in the photo. As a design feature I wanted to use the shapes from the photo on my layout I decided to make a large circle which I sewed with  black thread. I then cut the photo into a circle and matted it using a circular die for the background, echoing the shape of the pudding glass. Then I cut some triangles from the papers in the 6×8 paper pad, which co ordinated to the cocktail glass. I sewed along their edges and raised them on sticky fixers.

 

The white tag with the words was perfect for the layout as it related to the pudding and then I used it as a template to create two more tags. I distressed their edges and then tucked them in behind the photo. I used hemp string in the tags.

 

 

I then added stickers and ephemera from the collection around the photo.

Finally I created the title in gold thickers around the circle edge and used some water colour paint splatters to the layout.

Layout 2

I decided to make an extra layout as I had some of the ephemera left over and some stickers from the stickers sheet.

This was a very quick layout to make using torn paper strips down the side for a border and then matting the photo on paper from the 6×8 paper pad. I then arranged a collection of the ephemera, pieces from the cut apart sheet and stickers down the page. I distressed the edge of every piece and raised them on sticky fixers.

At the top left of the layout I created a small cluster to balance the page.
