Multi photos / Crate Paper / Sheena Rowlands
Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x
For National Scrapbooking Day I set a challenge to use multiple photos on a layout & lots of people took part. It reminded me that I mainly stick to one or maybe two photos on each scrapbooking page I make of late so for this post I wanted to try and use more photos.
I chose to use supplies from 2 of Crate Papers ranges – All Heart and Maggie Holmes Sunny Days for these layouts as the colours of the 2 ranges seem to compliment each other perfectly.
YAY.
Inspired by the All Heart 12 x12 chipboard accent record player I decided I wanted to document my daughters love of Live Music.
Using the B side of the Sunny Days – Seaside paper as my background I cut a circle from black cardstock and machine sewed around it to give the look of a record. I have to be honest and say that this was way harder than I thought!! so don’t look to closely at my sewing!
I’ve used a total of 6 photos on here. As gig photos are often blurry I printed 5 of them a little under 2 inch square & trimmed them to look like polaroids. plus one of my Daughter & boyfriend.
Using the Silhouette I cut some tapes adding patterned papers to the fronts to continue the music theme.
I layered the photos, tapes, ticket, chipboard, stickers and mini polaroid’s from the All Heart – Selfie 6×8 paper pad in a vertical column then added labels with the names of some of the bands she has seen in the last few years. I like the slightly jumbled effect this creates.
Vacay Vibes.
For my second page I was completely taken by the Sunny Days – Bright Days paper. I feel this paper would make a great first page in a holiday album or like I’ve created a layout giving an over view of a trip or visit somewhere.
On this page I have added 9 photos from a recent trip to Verona using a iPhone app to create them just under 2 in square. I arranged my photos trying to leave uncovered some of the words. I tore stripes of paper from both All Heart and Sunny Days ranges to cover the part words at the top and bottom of the layout. To highlight Summer & You + Me I coloured them with watercolour pencils.
Around the photos I layered stickers, chipboard pieces, mini polaroids and any other bits and pieces I could find in both ranges that I liked still leaving lots of the base patterned paper on show.
I hope these pages provide some inspiration to sometimes use more photos on your layouts or mix ranges by a manufacturer.
Till next time x
