More Cozy Days – Simple Stories | Morag Cutts

Hi there friends.  I have been playing with the gorgeous Simple Stories – Cozy Days collection this month.  I think it has been my favourite collection this year!  Today, I have another two layouts using the collection to share with you.

Fall

I don’t often use cut files so it was fun to use this pumpkin file for a change. I wanted to add some depth to the background so I used a mix of water colours to add some messy colour behind the pumpkin. I mixed the water colour with lots of water, and used a soft paint brush to dab on to the cardstock.  I continued with this process, mixing the colour as I went.

Once the background was dry, I stamped over the top with a flower design.  I didn’t like the result very much as it was a bit bold, so you can see that most if it is covered up! I fussy cut leaves from the Harvest Wishes paper and layered stickers from the  Cardstock Stickers and Sticker book.

The tags were created from the tag cut apart sheet – they are double sided so you can choose 30 tag designs in one sheet! I stitched around the edge of my tags to add a little detail.

The title is from the foam sticker sheet – it has fabulous titles and elements.  This title was perfect for my photo as I had asked my daughter to throw leaves into the air.  I fussy cut leaves and arranged them so it looked they were falling down the page.

Hello Fall

I created a partner layout to my first one using the diagonal design.  I love the colour of the Comfy Cozy paper at the top of the  page.  I used elements from the foam sticker sheet in my embellishment cluster together with flowers from my stash.

I know fussy cutting isn’t for everyone but look how cute the little leaves and berries are?! Certainly worth the effort.  I curl the edges to give them a little dimension before sticking them down.  I also tucked in some ephemera from the Sticker book – the trick is to overlap your elements.

To balance the page, I created another cluster at the bottom.  I added ephemera from the die-cut bits and pieces pack plus elements from the foam stickers and sticker book.  The slide is from my stash.

That wraps up my layouts using the fabulous Cozy Days collection for this month. I still have lots of elements and papers left so I will be creating more projects.  Be sure to grab yours before it’s all gone!
