More Willow Lane with Niki

Hi Magpies, Niki here today with more layouts and creations with the beautiful collection ‘Willow Lane’ by Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper.

This really wasn’t a collection that spoke to me at first and I actually dismissed it entirely. But then I saw a few layouts made with it so I got some. And then I went back for more!

The papers are beautiful but it was the embellishments I fell in love with mostly. I had the Chipboard accents, the cardstock stickers, the fringe strips, Alphabet Stickers, Cheerful Milti Alphabet Thickers, Decorative Star Trim, Ephemera, Phrase and Accent Thickers, Puffy Stickers, Washi Tape Set and the Waterfall Stickers.

For my first layout today I used the Pear card from the Ephemera to make up a punny title ‘Perfect Pear’. I used the multi alphabet Thickers to make up the word Perfect. I’ve used the narrow gold washi tape at the top and added machine stitching through it. I’ve embellished using the chipboard sheet and some sections from one of the cut-apart sheets. I love those sketched hearts which are fussy cut from a sheet of paper.

For my second layout ‘Always Dream Big’ I’ve used the thick green washi tape at the top and a torn piece along the bottom too. Again I’ve added the narrow gold washi tape and added machine stitching through it with a bit of the star trim too.

I’ve created my title using ‘Always’ from the waterfall stickers, ‘Dream’ from the cardstock stickers, and ‘Big’ from the mini alphabet stickers.  I’ve embellished using chipboard pieces, stickers from the cardstock stickers and some from the Waterfall sticker book.

For my third layout ‘A New Addition to the DT’ I’ve again used washi tape with machine stitching through it. I usually add stitching through my washi tape to ensure it stays on my page!  I’ve used lots of bits from the chipboard and various stickers.

I also made a couple of cards using the Willow Lane collection. I don’t make cards that often these days so it was nice to make some! I make a new home card and a general card. I even lined my envelopes with Willow Lane Papers.

And finally I have an off the page creation to show you. I had a wooden birdhouse which I have decorated. I started off by painting all the edges and then I set about covering the various parts of the house with Willow Lane papers. I’ve also added lots of embellishments, one of the tassel bows, the decorative star trim and I’ve also used the multi alphabet Thickers to create the ‘Welcome’ sign.

I wanted the birdhouse to be whimsical so I included as many of the animal characters as I could. There are a set of hooks at the bottom of the birdhouse which is for hanging keys on. This little project is now hanging in my hallway and really brightens it up!

Thanks so much for joining me today. Lots of the Willow Lane products I have used in today’s blog posts are still in stock so head over and grab them now!

Happy scrapping xx
