More Wildflower & Honey | Sheena Rowlands
Hi there magpies, Sheena here again x
For this post I have continued to use Vickie Boutin Wildflower & Honey stencil set to create my pages along with papers and embellishments for the same range. I have really loved using them alongside the collection & feel they really add something to her range.
Darling.
For this page featuring my Daughter I started with theVicki Boutin Wildflower & Honey word stencil and a background paper from the Mixed Media pad from the Color Kaleidoscope collection. Using texture paste I added a column of text through the stencil. When this had dried I went in with oxide inks colouring over the texture paste to match the background plus adding a couple more strips of colour across the cardstock top and bottom. This was quite time consuming but I wanted the colours to dry rather than mix together.
I mounted my photos onto Wildflower & Honey papers & distressed the edges. When I was happy with their placement I added sticker words and phrases around them using wet glue to get them to stick. I machine sewed them all down using either white or black thread before adding a sprinkle of black ink to finish.
Hello.
For this page I used a photo taken at a lavender farm, the smell was really amazing & my skirt smelt of it all day.
For my second layout I started by painting a circle using Distress Oxide inks in 3 colours to co ordinate with the foiled vellum butterfly paper on to Vicki Boutin foundation paper. I tried to blend the 3 colours where they met. Then I added a few mists of water to allow the oxides to do their thing. When the cardstock was dry I used the Vicki Boutin Wildflower & Honey flower stencil and Distress Oxide inks to add flowers over the coloured circle.
I cut all the vellum butterflies out whilst watching the TV and then arranged them over the flowers sometimes doubling them up for more interest colour matching with the flowers below. I’ve kept the rest of the page simple with a big title and a good splash of gold paint.
I hope these pages provide some inspiration for using Vicki Boutins Wildflower & Honey stencils and we would love to see your creations over on our FB group.
Till next time x
