More layers with Maggie Holmes Marigold | Julie Taylor

Hi Magpies, Julie back with you today sharing my next 2 layouts using the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Marigold.

Just my Type

I tried to make my first layout more masculine as I think most people perceive Maggie Holmes collections as very feminine. I used Nostalgia paper for my background & that set the scene for a typewriter layout but as a play on words. I added some white & gold ink splatters & then layered up some rectangle blocks of the blue papers in the collection, stitching them down to give added texture.

I embossed some white cardstock, added 2 tags, a punched border to the right hand side & layered up lots of the ephemera from the collection.

I added 2 typewriters from the Vicki Boutin Storyteller collection & wound some twine around the bottom layer along with one of the cut gold metal charms.

I made up my title using alphas out my stash & added some hand stitching.

You are the light of my life

My second layout is less graphic & I wanted to use lots of the ephemera out the collection. I used Very Dear, as my background but the lovely woodgrain B-side & added 2 rolled & curled papers at the top.

I then came down the righthand side with all my embellishments, layering them on top & clustering them around each other.

I added a secondary cluster, to the bottom left, to balance the page, die cutting a frame & adding that cute deer, which is just adorable.

Thanks for joining me today & I’ll be back next year with a new collection & more layouts.

hope you all have a happy christmas

Until next time,
