More fun with Kate & Ash | Julie Taylor
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today sharing 2 more layouts using the Simple Stories Kate & Ash collection.
Just Chill Sweet XO
For this page I wanted to use some of the great patterned papers, in the collection, but as I love to add lots of ephemera, it might get lost on the page. So to stop that I add a painted area!! It can be any colour but for this one I chose black. Now it may seem a bit scary to add black paint to a page but it’s only on a section & most of it gets covered & if you really don’t like it after it’s only a piece of paper & no harm done!!. I use a dry brush & quickly add the paint randomly. Don’t be too precise, just slap it on & add some splatters by watering down some of the remaining paint.
I used some texture paste, through a stencil, & added some gold splatters to break it up & then added lots of stamped words, on the edges of the paint, so it sort of blurs into the background paper.
I then proceeded to add all my embellishments & photo down the right hand side, on top of the painted area.
I cut off some of the background paper & added it to the B side of Girl Power paper, stitching it into place.
I just had to use that cute dog, at the bottom, to finish off the page.
My World
My second layout this month is another 9×12 page & I went back to white cardstock. I die cut the world map, out of different patterned papers & added it to the page & drew a black line around it to help it stand out.
I made a photo matt, with a few papers & stuck that below the map & added a few embellishments around it. I added my title, to the right of the photo, using alphabets from my stash.
I torn a section off the bottom of the cardstock & curled the edges & added 2 more patterned papers.
I finished it with some twine, a couple of girl charms, ephemera & brads.
I hope you have enjoyed my layouts using this lovely collection & please add your layouts to our FB group so we can see what you’re creating.
Until next time,
